Little Adam, Scarlet Fever & Ampang Puteri || Day 2

I am still sleepless last nite.. little Adam's temp still fluctuates.. He managed to sleep all through the nite but the small cries still there..

Nothing much today.. just 4 hourly temperature check.. then dressing his blisters.. this part was the hardest.. he struggles.. he even cried.. i felt hopeless.. i know it's painful.. then a couple of round for consultation by the paed.. he said that we just need to wait for the antibiotic to work..

Other than the above and couple of visits by family members.. me and little Adam just cuddle and sleep.. he still refuses to sleep but made some progress by requesting soup..

In the evening while applying cream to his blisters, I noticed that most of it have dried.. Alhamdulillah.. it looks less painfull..

That nite little Adam slept well.. But I still can't sleep.. but i manged to dozed off couple of times..

It all started with he scratches the back of his knees.. i guess he scratches unconsciously during sleep.. that was last saturday.. where the back of his knees bled and then came the air bisa.. brought him to the clinic nearby.. and the doctor said it was due to an allergic.. so he gave little Adam a strict vegetarian diet until his blisters healed.. he even gave an allergic medication and cream to be applied at the blisters..

We continued to cleaned and apply the cream on his blisters..it was ok until tuesday evening.. his body temp rose up to 39 degrees or maybe even more.. me and Mr. AZ couldn't sleep that nite..

The first thing on tuesday morning, we catched up on our sleep first.. my parents looked after little Adam for a while.. Alhamdulillah he managed to sleep that time.. we did also.. then we took him to paed.. at one look the doctor said.. "Scarlet Fever" and ask us to immediately admit little Adam.. from there onwards it was a bit fuzzy.. what I can remember was little Adam screaming being held by both of us while the doc inserted IV line at his hand and waited to be admitted..

We were given 2 bedded room.. at first it was ok.. since the other bed were empty.. little Adam well rested and sleep.. then came the other bed occupant with couple of little kids jumping up and down the bed and screaming.. little Adam was all panicky and couldn't sleep.. I had to asked Mr. AZ to moved us to a single room.. for little Adam need to rest.. both him and me needed a lot .. i mean really A LOT.. of rest.. luckily there were room available.. i guess we'll just have to thnik about the cost and everything later.. heeeee..

During that time i noticed that little Adam blisters grew more and bad.. pity him.. must be painful.. seriously the blisters was really fast..that nite we received couple of visits from family members.. little Adam's temperature still fluctuates.. but he's calm.. the doc came and explained to us on little Adam condition.. he will be treated with antibiotic.. once the antibiotic acts, his temperature will go normal.. the tiny rashes and blisters would go away.. and he said not to worry.. For the time being little Adam will be hydrated through IV since he don't drink or eat as usual.. ouhh.. the culprit bacteria named streptococcus.. damn you bacteria!!

Coincidently.. another family member was also admitted on the same floor.. he was supposed to be on a different floor.. but the room were full, so they were given paeds room temporarily while waiting for their room to be available.. he was admitted due to dengue.. but it turned out just a viral fever..

Cuti-cuti Malaysia || Kuantan, Pahang || Day 2

We started with having breakfast at the hotel.. for the 1st time in my life i experience where the cafe were out of food to serve..i think during the final hours of the breakfast they cook the lunch portion..the cafe solely depends on omelets..luckily we went down early.. so we had better choices..

After that we just spent the time at the kids club.. little Adam was truly excited there.. he really love basketball..ohh and yeah.. we decided to skip Gambang Water Park.. expected there will be crowds..

We requested for a late check out.. it was a nice feeling to just lazed around..almost 2 we checked out to head home..little Adam as expected was really sad that we had to leave.. he, of late, has built a fondness to hotels.. once in a while he would requested to stay at a hotel..

Stopped by at a cousin's house on the way back.. and we stopped again in Temerloh for a Ikan Patin Tempoyak treat.. this time around we went to Gerai Pak Usop but was frustrated again.. this time around the food was finished.. it was 5 in the afternoon by the way.. so we settled for a shop nearby.. the taste were ok but there were not much choices.. no vege or anything.. just rice and ikan patin tempoyak..

That was our last stop before heading straight home.. to summarised this holiday was for resting and eating..

Cuti-cuti Malaysia || Kuantan, Pahang || Day 1

It was a last minute decision to spent the nite in Kuantan.. the idea came from my bro since he didn't want to spent the long weekend at home..

We started around 10 o'clock on Sunday morning from KL heading to Kuantan.. the road were smooth.. i guess most of the holidaymakers head out yesterday or even Friday nite.. little Adam was happy cause the grandparents ride with us.. he sings and talked a lot! and sometimes he just kept quite and concentrated on his gadjet..

We neared Temerloh around noon.. so we decided to stop at one of the shops for the famous ikan patin masak tempoyak.. nobody objected as i remembered..heee.. at first we wanted to stop at the shop that we visited last time. but it was closed.. then we head to Temerloh town to try Gerai Pak Usop Ikan Patin as suggested by Mrs. Tini.. but the place was jammed since there were Pasar Siang and we couldn't find a spot to park.. luckily we didn't walk to the gerai.. according to Mrs. Tini (the next day) the shop closed on Sundays.. so we end up having lunch at Medan Selera Bukit Angin.. it was still early.. the choices were endless with lauk kampung and ulams.. i went bonkers.. can't decide on what to eat.. the main star was surelt ikan patin masak tempoyak.. it was yummilicious... meleleh air liur thinking about it..

After that fulfilling lunch, we continue our journey to Kuantan.. We stayed at The Zenith Hotel (the latest hotel in Kuantan).. according to the staff there, they were fully occupied since Saturday.. it took us quite sometime to be checked-in.. we napped the afternoon away..

After Asar we took little Adam to the mall infront of the hotel.. it was also the latest in Kuantan..we didn't do anything just walked around the mall.. except for stopping at Pizza Hut as requested by little Adam to have soup and pizza..

Late that afternoon we went out to have our dinner in Tanjung Lumpur.. seafood!! while waiting at the lobby we could see couple of chinese families came for their reunion dinner.. with colourful attire!!

Arriving at Tanjung Lumpur, we were welcomed by lined of cars.. it was already jam.. most of them headed to the restaurant that we were going.. so we head to other restaurant without the crowd.. haaa.. frustrated.. its either the food were not good or its my full stomach.. but i really was frustrated..

then we call it a nite.. still contemplating whether to go or not to go to Gambang Water Park tomorrow..

Congratulations to my niece Ika for her engagement.. it was a sweet ceremony attended by most of the family members.. the food was super yummilicious.. lamb & chicken mandi rice from Tajine restaurant.. even little Adam love eating the chicken and rice.. I even tapau some for him to continue enjoying it at home.. heeee..I manage to take a couple of pictures before the battery went dead.. good job Aida!! next time check your battery level..

Today mak made her specialty.. Mee Udang.. way i mean waaaaaaaaaayy better than the one's at Kuala Sepetang.. the prawns where fresh enough.. everything was right. yummmehh.. but please do not ask how to cook the dish.. i can only answer how to mix up a bowl for myself to enjoy.. heeee

Missing You

Yesterday few of my friends shared this video on facebook.. it was of a flashmob at KLIA by MAS.. i immediately click to watch it.. i just don't know why.. but i have a thing for flashmob (eventhough haven't seen it live).. there's a certain feeling of proud and being belong to something..

After watching it, i don't thing it is categorised as a flashmob.. since they were performers.. it's more of a performance and some sort of an advertisement by MAS in expressing what their passengers feels when boarding their flight.. the joy of meeting their loved ones.. the joy of seeing new places for tourists.. the cutest of all was the ones with makcik-makcik singing..

This is our second time here.. the food was still the same.. the ambience still the same.. but the service was poor that nite.. worst than before.. there's a room for improvement..

Little Adam 2nd Day @ School

Today was a huge improvement.. Little Adam was smiling and singing happily all the way to school... goooodd!! I followed him inside the school along with my mom.. he was happily running with his new found friend.. guess what? the friend is a girl.. SOPHIE.. at first he kept coming back at my side.. then me and my mom sneaked out while he was playing.. i peeked in to see if he was crying.. but he didn't even realised that i was gone..

While waiting for his 2 and a half hour to finished, me and mom did some window shopping.. and then joined my father for a coffee.. Something to take my mind of worrying about little Adam..

At the end of the session, when i went to picked him up, the teacher said "today he joined the class" well.. that's good.. before going off, he salam his teacher's hand and then sanitized his hand with the dettol provided..

When i asked him "What did you do at school Adam" he said.. "jump-jump, football" .. i guess he left out the learning part.. hehehehe.. and today i noticed there were sticker on his t-shirt.. same as yesterday.. so the kids were given stickers on their t-shirt everyday at the end of the session.. and they get the stickers after hugging their teachers.. how cute...

Little Adam First Day @ School

We decided on where to send little Adam to school to mingle at last.. so the first day came.. me, as the mother was very nervous..i was a wrecked.. thinking on how he'll react.. luckily Mr. AZ took leave to send him along with me..We keep on telling him that he'll be going to school with lots of friends where he can jump.. run and play..

The teachers, they refer themselves as aunty and uncle waited for their student at the entrance.. for this first tim parents were allowed to enter the class.. little Adam was okay.. He even pull his father to join him jumping on the trampoline..then the class started with only 3 students.. but little Adam refuses to join the class, he just jumping up and down on the trampoline.. and he make sure that one of us was by side all the time..

After couple of minutes, me and Mr AZ decided that we had to leave him by himself.. and hoping that he will join the class.. for this first day, according to the teachers, will be a small class.. but the were expecting a bigger group next week.. Together we ran out of the class and leave him while he cried and scream on top of his lung.. one of the teachers came o him and hug him.. We can watch him from the glass door..

After couple of minutes, he calmed down but still didn't join the class.. he just played with one of the teacher.. Mr. AZ and me waited outside where they provide chairs for parents.. Once in while we do check on him.. looks like he enjoyed playing.. but still didn't join the class..

After their snack break, i think it was playing and singing session until the end of class.. only during this session i saw little Adam join the class.. but a good progress.. he came out of the class smiling and shake uncle and aunty's hand.. the teacher said he's okay.. it's normal for a first timer to react the way he did.. Hoping for a better tomorrow.. we signed little Adam for a 3-day week class.. so, it's Monday, Wednesday and Friday.. since this week the class started on Tuesday.. so it will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday..

After the class, he asked for his milk and slept all through the evening with only a bowl of mushroom soup as his lunch.. Luckily, it was only a 2 hour session per class.. if not i guess he'll be sleeping all through the day!

Makan - Makan || Ayers Rock Butcher & Grill, Wangsa Maju

We visited this restaurant during one of my meat craving phase..I knew about this place from a read one of the blogs..Through a search i found out that it has opened a new branch in Wangsa Maju.. Took me quite some time to convince Mr. AZ that i need to go to this place to get their piece of meat..

The night of our visit, the branch hosted a function but they still accept walk-ins.. we had a nice table at a corner then was given the menu.. I, without thinking hard ordered my favourite part.. "T-bone, well done". Mr. AZ ordered their burger.. for little Adam?? well.. he already had his dinner..i just ordered him hot chocolate..

While we were enjoying our meal, something funny.. or should say embarrassing. but i was proud at the same time.. there live band.performing that nite..while the band were playing a pop song (couldn't remember the song), little Adam, on top of his lung, recited zikir..something "Allahuakbar, alhamdulillah" over and over again.. The more we ask him to slow down his reciting.. the more louder he goes..Everybody was looking at us and smile.. ehehhehe..so Mr. AZ finishes his meal quickly and took little Adam out..then i took the turn to look after little Adam, for Mr. AZ to finish my T-bone..

The Verdict

Ambience - the lights shouldn't be dimmed.. it does affect my mood and appetite..nice job with the live band thing.. during our visit, the place was too crowded with people from the function..

Food - for me, the meat was like whooahhhh.. thick and juicy.. i don't like the salad accompanying it.. and i feel that the whole plate was bland.. there's something missing but can't make out the missing thing..

Price - i guess it's on the expensive side.. the t-bone steak priced more than the one's served in Victoria Station..but it was thicker..

Service - good because we were served by the owner..

Little Adam loves this clip very much because he's so into Cars the Movie.. but was not interested at all with Cars 2.. he loves Lightning McQueen and Mater.. and he can named most of the characters in Cars the movie.. So most of the time we spent together was watching Cars the Movie over and over again.. he can repeat all the dialogue..

p/s: and now the father bought him a Lightning McQueen bag for him to go to school.. oooohh.. and yeah.. we're planning to sent him to playschool to let him mingle but still couldn't decided on the place to sent..

A Birthday Party

This is little Adam's only birthday party invite for the year.. an invitation from Mr. AZ's friend.. wouldn't want to missed it since we couldn't make it last year.. I was the one excited with the party.. searching for little Adam's t-shirt according to the party theme.. the theme was Upin & Ipin.. Seriously.. i thought it was an easy search.. but there were no Upin & Ipin t-shirt could be found at my office flea market.. so I just decided that little Adam would wear any t-shirt from his collection..

We already bought the birthday girl her presents earlier.. the morning of the party, Mr. AZ decided to search for Upin & Ipin theme t-shirt for the last time (last kopek laa kononya).. he's afraid that little Adam would feel left out during the party for not wearing according to the theme.. eheheheh.. Finally jumpa la jugak t-shirt Upin & Ipin.. I wash the t-shirt and fan dried and also ironed the t-shirt just before going out for the party..

Arriving at the venue.. which is little Adam most favourite place in the world.. Pizza Hut.. because he loves to eat pizza & mushroom soup..he was the only one wearing Upin & Ipin themed shirt.. even the birthday girl and family was out of the theme.. heheheeh.. so i guess the theme was for the venue since most of the balloons were of Upin & Ipin.. little Adam had a great time.. eating pizza and mushroom soup all he wants..

After that we went back with full stomach and went to lalaland secara berjemaah.. eheheheh

Final Holiday of the Year 2011

Since dah jalan-jalan utara ni.. kitorang holiday laaa dekat Penang.. the nearest.. Initially plan semalam je.. lepas tu boleh pulak nak extend another nite.. tapi at a different hotel..

After wedding.. kitorang terus cross the bridge and head to Cititel Penang.. why Cititel? it is close to Nasi Kandar Yasmeen (our favourite Nasi Kandar spot) and Sup Hameed.. both of the spot is just couple of steps je dari Cititel.. tu yang best tu..

I planned to eat lotsa things.. nak pegi Padang Kota (terpaksa ditch this plan sebab keluar from hotel dah lambat and Mr. AZ prefers Gurney Drive).. Dapatla makan Char Kueytiaw.. even little Adam pon makan Char KueyTiaw.. a bit pedas tapi die suka.. Habis 2 gelas milo ais dia sorang bantai..Mr. AZ was happy with his Rojak Techno.. where the server dance while preparing your rojak.. funny this man.. then balik hotel.. i don't know why.. tapi terase penat sangat.. mata dah macam tak boleh bukak.. so sampai hotel teros membuta.. around 10, Mr. AZ woke me to go to Sup Hameed.. but i just couldn't make it.. and let both the boys go.. Kiranya plan asal nak makan macam2 tak tercapai!

Next morning we had our breakfast at the hotel.. the coffee house too small and crammed.. luckily we went down early.. dapatla jugak tempat.. if not we have to queue for quite some time..the breakfast spread was so-so.. then we toured the hotel.. when for their indoor swimming pool..but not comfortable with the environment.. stuffy.. little Adam pon taknak swim.. so naik atas and dia swim dalam bath tub..

Close to 12 kitorang pon get ready to check out.. after arrangements at the front desk.. we went to have our favourite Nasi Kandar.. from Yasmeen we saw the outrageously long line at Nasi Kandar Line Clear.. but i still prefer Yasmeen..

Then off we went to Batu Feringghi to check in at another hotel.. Bayview Batu Feringghi. our room wag HUGE!! tapi i didn't enjoy the stay much.. I was down with flu.. tapi still drag myself to the beach and kids club with little Adam.. kesian dia.. his 1st vacation that he enjoy.. but mama down with flu pulak.. Nasib baik dia tanak swimm.. kalau tidak lagi sakit la mama.. Most of our time spend at Kids club tak pon just lounging at the beach.. malam tu just makan ala kadar.. and Mr. AZ went to the Batu Feringghi pasar malam by himself sebab little Adam tido awal malam tu..

The next day went by like a lightning.. after breakfast at the hotel..then it was time to check-out.. we took the ferry out of the island.. little Adam enjoyed the ride.. while me was knocked down by the Paracetamol i took before we left the hotel..

Sorry Adam.. mama demam pulak time holiday.. next time i promise to be very healthy to layan you.. until now little Adam kept on saying "Penang" whenever he saw building similar to Cititel Penang and "hotel" whenever he feels as if he was in a hotel lobby.. kesian anak mama..

Wedding || Fidzah & Nizam

We just came back from a trip up north.. a long due holiday and a wedding of a dear friend.. been friends since matriculation days.. there were 11 of us.. yg berjaya sampai ke Kepala Batas just 7 of us.. lagi 3 x dapat datang.. sorang ada exam.. sorang dalam pantang.. and sorang lagi ade wedding of a family member.. so there you go.. 11 of us.. Told Mr. AZ that we have to take this trip.. I wouldn't take no for an answer.. wahahahaha.. ganas kah??

Bertolak awal pagi 17th.. the day of the wedding.. had to missed the akad nikah since Mr. AZ had to work.. along the way.. banyak giler lori terbalik.. ade laa dalam 3 kot.. tp we managed to arrived at the hall first! kalah orang-orang yg datang dari kulim... muehhehehe..

Seperti biasa.. makan laa dulu.. By the time kawan-kawan lain sampai.. little Adam dah sleepy.. so Mr. AZ.. being a good and understanding husband took litle Adam to the car and put him to sleep.. I guess he went to lalaland himself.. eheheh..

Adalah dalam 1 hour jugak i enjoyed myself with the ladies.. rase mcm anak dara laaa pulak.. do enjoy the picture of us at the wedding..

The other day as I was playing bejeweled, little Adam came and sit on my lap..

Little Adam : Mama.. Circow * circle (while pointing at the circle shape on my bejeweled board)
Me : Yup.. Clever boy!
Little Adam : Mama.. Diamond (while pointing at the diamond shape on my bejeweled board)
Me : Clever boy!

After 2 or 3 times failed attempts to correct him.. i just let it be.. nanti-nanti mama ajar lagi ok Adam?? no wonder laa mama dengar you pronounce rectangle as redtangle.. theres a reason.. ingatkan thats what you heard.. ehehehehe..

These days suka la sangat lawan cakap.. mesti mula ayat dengan "eh..nooooo!! bukanla..."

Makan - Makan || San Francisco Pizza, Wangsa Maju

Actually, dah lama dah makan kat sini.. tapi asyik terlupa nak update.. Try this place during ada this one phase dimana saya sangat suka makan meat.. kalau boleh hari-hari nak steak.. My sis suggested this place.. dier kate the food quite ok and harga affordable.. Jadi... kitorang try-test-makan kat sini.. Wangsa Maju branch.. kalau tak sila dekat area bangi ade satu lagi branch..

We ordered mushroom soup (as usual!) for little Adam, sirloin steak (for Mr. AZ), and finally pizza with our own choice of toppings for both of us..

He's another year older.. And he sure is more wiser.. A lot of achievement this year.. Loves Lihtning Mcqueen, Upin Ipin, harimau Malaya home jersey, Jake & the Neverland Pirates and of course football.. Talks alot but only with people he's comfortable with.. Lots of vocabulary that i didn't expect from him.. Good one though..What else eh??!! Thats all for now i guess..

For this year we celebrate the 14 of November by going out having a cake.. Seriously a piece of cake shared by 3 of us..

The latest adalah Harimau Muda.. They are the new 'in' thing in Malaysia.. Cube la tanye budak2 skang.. Nak jadi ape bile besar? I bet you guys, adelah dalam 3-5 org budak akan jawab main bola.. Same with my little adam.. Sgt obses dgn home jersey harimau malaya.. Sampai kena beli 1 lg spare.. Sbb almost every day nak pakai jersey tu.. My dad's friend suggested this place for a western dining.. since most of us were craving for meat.. it's the best time to test the food there.. ermm.. this visit was way before Ramadhan..ehehehe..sorry.. we even visited this place again after Raya the other day..

I like the ID of the place.. so home-like.. we were greeted by the busy cooks preparing the dishes.. open air.. as we enter, on the left side were the waiting area (just like a living area) then the tables for eating.. i was awed by the deco.. loving it to the max..

the food choices was enough.. covered from eastern to western.. i settled for bbq ribs (i'm the one craving for meat)..eheheheh.. my sister to but can't remember the name.. mom tested their porridge and abah char kueytiaw.. little Adam?? he had his usual food.. mushroom soup.. this time he finished 2 bowls.. what an appetite.. Mr. AZ had another appointment.. generally the food awas great.. the ribs.. the ouuh so yummy ribs was huge..the sauce have that smoky taste (yummm!) they made the mash potato in a patty.. but the vege was quite a dissapointment.. they saute the vege..i prefer a fresh salad with my meat.. the whole dishes ordered were given quite a good review by my parents and sis..

little Adam currently tengah obses sangat dengan Disney Cars characters.. especially Lightning McQueen.. the 1st movie tu saje je laa introduce to him sbb sebelum tu asyik tengok Rio jek.. tapi Cars ni memang terus terpahat laa kat hati dier.. hari2 mesti tengok.. kadang2 marathon sampai 4 kali sehari.. all the scenes dier dah hafal siap dialog.. tiba2 satu hari tu tengah suap dier makan.. dier bleh cakap kat diecast McQueen tuh "are u okay stickers??" haa.. boleh??

Kalau tedo malam mesti susun diecast Cars dier.. for the time being ader 4... 2 tu pullback Ramone and Luigi i got for him mase pegi warehouse sale Mattel ke aper ntah.. rm10 satu.. ambik je laa.. pastu skarang dah ader diecast Lightning McQueen dan Matter.. memang bersusun laa bile nak tedo.. tapi his favourite a.k.a Cinta Hati pastilaa Lightning McQueen.. memang orang lain tak boleh pegang..

One day before i bought him diecast tu nampak laa kat Toys'rUs ader buat Disney Cars 2 Party for member.. just kene spent certain amount beli Disney Cars item..and u're elligible.. sbb dier by invitation to the 1st 30 member.. since harga kat toys'r us pon same ngan kat mane2.. so i bought there.. and terus hantar particulars..

One of the days during Ramadhan haritu, org Toys'r Us called and said little Adam got the invite to Disney Cars2 party at Empire Shopping Gallery.. so mama dier happy giler laa..

and just now, baru je balik from party tu.. it was worth it.. dapat goodie bag worth almost rm100++ dier kasik 2 diecast Disney Cars pastu macam2 barang Disney lagi laa.. and summore dapat test all the toys yang based on the characters from Cars..little Adam paling syok main remote control car dier.. nasib baik tak mintak bawak balik... ehehehe.. tapi mama and papa dier berkenan walkie talkie.. little Adam sikit pon x pandang.. mueheheheh..

Food provided.. McDonald's Value Meal set [plus] free flow Milo [plus] ice cream.. little Adam really enjoy his time there..

Skarang little Adam Disney Cars colection dah jadi 6 sebab tambah 2 lepas party.. 1 diecast Painting Lightning McQueen and 1 lagi diecast Tow Truck Tom.. 2-2 nih mata dier gerak2..

p/s: next mission is to take him to watch Disney Cars 2 at the theater.. this will be the most challenging part ever.. wish us luck!

Baru je sampai from kampung petang tadi.. so here i summarised my Raya holiday in 1 entry laa yerk?? eheheh.. still in kampung mood.. so i write in bahasa rojak..

1 Syawal

Tahun ni my turn to Raya at my side.. and we decided nak balik kampung to Taiping!! tapi balik lepas semayang raya ..settle2 lepas zuhur macamtu laa.. punyela penat pagi raya tuh..little Adam buat hal tanak bangun..org dah pegi masjid semayang dier still tedo lagi..so how now brown cow? padehal dah tedokan dier awal dah malam tadi.. hmmm..dahlaa helper kitorang kasik cuti raya.. hectic siket laaa..

Lepas dier dah bangun..suap dier makan.. then mandikan dier..part nak pakai baju ni another struggle.. fuhhh..exercise mama pagi2 nih.. so after dah settle dengan dier.. its my turn bersiap.. by that time sumer org dah balik masjid.. then ziarah raya to my uncle's memang lame laaa melepak situ..skalinyer dah tengahari..ahahahah..boleh x sedarkan??

By that time baru sedar kitorang xde gambar raya..ehehehehe..skali dah siap2 posing.. nak amek gambar..my camera battery habess??!! boleh?? (lesson learned : make sure before aper2 occasion.. siler charge battery camera)..

The journey to Taiping took us around 3 hours..sampai rumah my grandmom pukul 5.30 macamtu laa.. so beraya2 sket..then bergerak ke rumah aunties & cousins.. tapi punyerlaa panas Taiping nih..fuh..luckily i chose cotton for our Raya attire (every year pon cotton..muahahahah).. dah malam sket..pulang balik ke sarang..which is my grandmom punye rumah..little Adam memang dah restless..panas amattt!! pastu pulak tedo dalam kelambu..berasap laaaa..nasib baik dier tido gak at last.. selang seli with crying sebab takut firecrackers..

2 Syawal

Harini just continue with beraya..tapi tak banyak rumah pon..sebab panas sangat..banyak spent time duduk rumah dan menyejukkan diri sendiri.. tapi sempat jugak pekena cendol Bismillah..known to be the best cendol..everytime balik Tepen..mesti pekena cendol kat sini..that evening we were joined by my bro & co yg datang dari Alor Star.. malam tu dinner sponsored.. eheheh..another hot sleepless night...

3 Syawal

Nothing much to do.. mostly semua rumah dah pegi.. so today kitoang jalan2 kat Tepen jek.. actual plan nak naik Bukit Bendera a.k.a Bukit Maxwell.. tapii.... hmmm..taktaulaa ape yg buat plan tu kene kensel..

so kitorang jenjalan ke Port Weld.. or now known as Kuala Sepetang.. alaaaa.. yang famous dengan mee udang tu..tapi kitorang tak makan laa kat situ..sebab tgk kuah dier cair jek..summore my mom buat laggiiiii sedap... muehehehehe..

I was imagining that Port Weld tu ader a proper place for visitors to visit the port tapi takde pon.. kalau nak ke port kene lalu celah2 rumah orang..boleh kah gitu?? tak sanggup laa.. kitorang lalu laa Masjid dier.. Balai Polis and the spot where it used to be stesen ketapi yang pertama.. yang skarang tinggal signage jek.. gambar pon tak ambik banyak.. little Adam mengganggu konsentrasi mama..

After Zuhur..siap2 sumer then we take our leave..untuk balik KL.. my parents left earlier sbb tunggu kitorang lambat sangat.. Plan asal nak stay another nite..tapi tak sanggup..panas sangattt.. (rasa keji giler biler dok bising2 panas..macam diva habes..tp sumer org komen panas..so i'm not alone here)

But we were unlucky.. i guess ramai org yang plan nak balik the same day..sbb the journey dari rumah my grandmom to the Changkat Jering Tol yang selalunya took us 10 minutes dah jadi 30 minutes.. 2 jam kitorang baru sampai Ipoh right after the tunnel tuh.. so Mr. AZ decied to stopover dekat rumah his friend area Parit.. and most probably spent the nite kat hotel somewhere that area..high probability is at Lumut...ehehehe.. so.. saya telah mencadangkan Damai Laut.. he's ok with that..

At his friends house tu kitorang langkah kanan habis.. family dier buat BBQ..oohhh..sedapnyer kambing.. rumah kawan dier tu pon panas jugak..so kitorang pon tak lama kat situ..little Adam buat perangai takut bunga api.. penat dah ajar dier "bunga api cantekkk" tak jalan jugak.. menjerit macam kene sebat..

Pastu we were on the way to Lumut.. Mr. AZ dah block a room kat Damai Laut.. yeaaahooo!! masa on the way..i dozed off.. now i know.. Mr. AZ will be lost withour me navigating him.. sbb dier missed the turn to Lumut and kitorang dah terlajak ke Teluk Muroh.. kat situ ader one island they called it Marina Island and ader satu hotel apartment which is quite new..BEST WESTERN.. since its already late, and ader bilik kosong (eventhough quite big for the 3 of us).. kitorang decided to stay there.. the room.. very spacious.. little Adam berlari2 dalam bilik.. okla for the nite.. kitorang tedo dengan aman sbb sejuk aircond.. eeheheh..

4 Syawal

Bangun pagi2 turun for breakfast.. spread dier boleh tahan laa.. dah makan tu ingatkan little Adam nak swim kat pool.. tapi dier tanak..nak tengok kat tepi jek..so kitorang naik laa..buat aper nak berpanas kat bawah tu.. then we decided to let him berendam jer dalam tub kat bilik.. punyerlaa seronok mamat tu berendam ngan papa dier.. sampai tanak kluar.. lepas tu teros sebotol susu and went to lalaland..

check out at this hotel pukul 12..so by that time kitorang pon dah setle2 check out.. still a long way to go.. singgah Lumut.. beli serba sedikit barang2 kering utk rumah.. then off carik jalan pulang.. memang mencari jalan pulang ok.. sbb kitorang lalu Setiawan.. and from Lumut memamg takde signage utk ke plus highway.. sampai laa ke Bidor baru jumpe.. giler!! jauh tuuu.. sempat laa singgha leaning clock tower kat Teluk Intan or used to be named Teluk Anson.. tak turun pon..panas sangat!!

and finally dalam pukul 5 lebih tadi kitorang sampai to our familiar environment.. and here I am..

p/s: rasa sedeh pulak entry pasal raya tapi takde gamba raya.. how?? nak buat suggestion to take a proper family picture laa..

It was the last day of Ramadhan..since tomorrow is the day of celebration, me and Mr. AZ decided to celebrate a bit.. he bought a couple sticks of bunga api for little Adam to enjoy.. i was expecting he'll excited like i am.. unfortunately.. he ran and hide behind my mom once we light up the candle.. and he was nowhere to be seen after that.. so me and Mr. Az was left outside with the bunga api..luckily little Sara was not afraid at all.. and she enjoy the experience..

p/s: can't wait for tomorrow!!

Today's iftar was requested by me.. i keep on remembering when were small.. my mom used to make us this nasik tomato where she dum all the rice and chicken with chicken stock and tomato puree in the rice cooker and wallaaa..there you go the most delicious nasik tomato ever.. so i requested for our iftar.. and everybody agreed..and we enjoyed the iftar very much..even little Adam enjoy the rice too.. it was accompanied with salad, sambal telur, sambal kacang goreng, pumpkin pudding (cousin's food tent) and beef tomyam.. and the drink for today was honeydew juice.. fresh!!

Since it's hard to get a date to gather all of us..and it's quite a hassle to gather with kids during iftar..we decided that this year's Ramadhan gathering by having Moreh together.. after it was decided that we should Moreh instead of Iftar.. then come to the part to decide where to eat.. finally we decided to have at Tony Romas Yap Kwan Seng since it would be open till late...

Me and my troop arrive a little bit late waiting for Mr. AZ from Tarawikh.. unfortunately Tony Romas kitchen already closedby that time.. so we had drinks only.. ordered chocolate shake for little Adam which he refuse after the first taste.. it does taste a little bit weird..for me la kan..

we did some catch-up eventhough only 5 of us were there.. it was fun though.. to have this kind of thing once in a while.. and during that gathering i realised.. that i missed our uni days.. the time that we did everything together.. and how time flies..and now here we are.. some with kids..

I think after today's iftar mark the i-had-enough-of-rice day.. i became confuse on what to eat.. so i end up by having kerabu daging (given by my cousin)as appetizer and bread with fish curry as my main dish.. that bad huh??

Today, as normal we prepared our normal iftar dish.. at the end of the day, with my cousin (with the food tent) joining us for iftar, the menu became larger..

afraid that the rice is not enough, my sister fried an express nasik goreng sardin during the last hour..it turn out that the nasik goreng was hot selling rather than the normal white rice.. heeee.. the tribe has spoken..maybe we should change our menu la kak..

Over the weekend we went back to Mr AZ hometown, so no pictures of our iftar.. heee..malu nak bawak kuar kamera depan mak mentua!..

So today, back to taking pictures of our menu for iftar..it's been 15 days we've been observing Ramadhan.. how fast the time flies.. so the menu became more and more limited..hence the pictures became fewer and fewer.. ehehehe..

Today's iftar was glorious.. glorious with seafood (again!).. it was my sister's doing.. since it was raining heavily, me and Mr. AZ arrived a little bit later than usual.. by that time all of the menu were already served on the table.. so these were what we had just now..

I was craving for pavlova the other day.. and i remembered reading an entry by this lady : LadyVerde on making a pavlova.. as i go through the ingredients..i'm very sure that I can make it myself.. so this is my journey on making pavlova for the first time..but one thing for sure..you really have to have tonnes of patience as baking the meringue takes a long time.. and you guys can add more fruits for your toppings..

Here's the recipe that i got from her blog..for me the recipe is on the sweeter side..maybe i'll put less sugar next time..

INGREDIENTS

-- Meringue
4 large (120 grams) egg whites

1 cup (200 grams) superfine sugar - castor sugar
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 tablespoon cornstarch - cornflour
tracing/ baking paper

-- Topping
1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 tablespoons (20 grams) granulated white sugar - or to taste
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
fresh fruits

PREPARATION

1. preheat oven to 130 degC.

2. beat the egg whites until fluffy.

3. add castor sugar a tablespoon at a time while continue beating it in medium speed until mixture forms stiff & shiny peaks.

4. add in vanilla mixture & mix.

5. take out the mix & sprinkle vinegar and cornflour. mix well.

6. line the tracing paper on the baking sheet & spread the meringue mix. make an indentation in the middle of the circle.

7. bake in the oven under 130 degC for 75 minutes.
8. its done when it turns into very pale pink colour and crispy outside, marshmallowy inside. let it cool.
9. whip the cream until fluffy, add in vanilla extract & sugar.
10. spread the cream on top of the meringue & decorate with the fresh fruits.
11. wallah! you're done!

Me and a couple of colleagues went to visit this Floria thing during one of the long lunch break.. it was really hot since it was middle of the day.. unfortunately the event was not as what expected..It was a disappointment to sacrifice my long lunch sleep under the hit scorching sun..According to one of the colleague, this year they focus more on the nite activities with decorated floats and fireworks..

Went for another makan-makan trip with the family over one of the weekend.. this time around we picked a Nasi Padang place..since mom wanted to have the famous nasi padang dish : gulai tunjang.. head to kampung baru that have lots and lots of Nasi Padang Restaurant.. since abah is quite picky on places to eat we chose Grand Restaurant Seri Garuda Emas located near the Paediatric Hospital KL.. this restaurant have another branch somewhere near Chow Kit Road market but without aircond..

Once we were seated, the waiter and waitresses served us with their variety of dishes.. we can chose the ones we like but please be warn that if you don't want that dish please don't touch the plate.. better yet put it aside..if not it would be charges to your bill.. we don't want a long list right??

I love their gulai tunjang but i don't quite like their ayam pop which is fried ayam kampung..and it was qute dissapointing because there were no gado-gado and fried eel.. and the avocado juice were not as expected..

On the plus point, the ambience was great with ample of tables to eat and parking space infront ofthe restaurant.. service was good too.. by the end of the day, our bill came up to RM97.00 for 6 pax plus 6 fruit juices...

Malaysia-Arsenal Match

I am so not into the football thing but since BIL gave us tickets to the match..why not?? it was a last minute plan as we were given the tickets couple of hours before the match and we decided to bring little Adam since he loves watching football matches on tv.. Right after work we rushed home and get ready.. took the LRT Ampang Line to Bkt. Jalil.. The train was packed with both Malaysia and Arsenal supporters..

On the train little Adam was singing and talking happily.. his mood suddenly changes when we arrived at the stadium..with people shouting selling all their stuff and some were wearing colourful mohawks and whatmore with the blaring of airhorns everywhere.. then only he starts crying and hugging Mr. AZ like crazy..he kept on closing his eyes and cried.. asking us to take him home..shouting "mama!! papa!!"..

At the gate he was still crying..and still crying at our seats..during this time I was sure that i wont be enjoying the match.. he was hugging me tightly and cries..When the game starts he stopped crying but the tight hugging was still there.. We didn't wait for the game to end.. left the stadium earlier to beat the crowd on the train.. but we were not the only ones having that idea..there were quite a big crowd at the station but we manage to catch the 1st train out..

The experience was priceless but I don't think I would be going to that kind of match unless the tickets were at the grand stand where I don't need to climb up the stairs..fair?! heeee...

Autobots! Roll Out!

Semalam had a nite out with Mr. AZ and couple of friends (Janggeltrekker Life & BeautifulLife) & Double A the paper.. Actually i participated in Double A's fb contest to watch Transformers 3.. secured 2 tix for and Mr. AZ.. Eventhough the event was on working day.. we made it a point that this is TRANSFORMERS.. we grew up with the cartoon series..

It was jammed all the way from the office to OU.. but manage to arrived there (with parking and all) with 30 minutes to spare before the screening..Our tix have been collected earlier so there's no rush there..To our surprised (after seeing our tix) the screening is on 3D..weeehooo!! Thanx Double A!

Before entering the cinema, we shopped a little at the titbits counter (since we haven't had out dinner yet) and then collected our 3D glasses.. At the cinema entrance we were given goodie bags.. Thanx again Double A!

About the movie.. I wouldn't elaborate much because I don't wanna be the spoiler.. all in all the movie was d*mn cool.. full with action..i soooo love and so loving it.. from my opinion it's better that TF2.. ouuhh and McDreamy was there but he was the villain!! i hate!

Me and Mr. AZ have run out of places to bring little Adam to..not that little Adam have been to every place in KL.. but we were run out of places that we can think of other than the shopping malls.. still we went to one of the shopping malls.. its KLCC.. instead of the normal window shopping.. we went for the Petrosains adventure..

Me and Mr. AZ enjoy the experience.. but i guess the place is not suitable for little Adam's age.. too complicated or too technical.. ehheheh.. he only enjoy when he saw balls and cars.. and he also enjoys the experiencing the adventure in his own way..but it was a new experience i can say.. a family time well spent.. ohh.. and during our visit there were some renovation and it was the f1 fever theme.. thats why Mr. AZ was happy and most of the pictures were of them in racing cars..

Received a notification from my alma mater on facebook that our school band won the NATCOMP 2011 South Zone Preliminary Round.. after watching the video.. i feel like I'm 17 again and I'm at the school field watching the band practicing every evening.. and I feel very very proud..

So girls.. congratulations on the win and good luck for the finals!!

I forgot to mention that I was one of the colour guards back then..but during my final year at school the team was not as well establish as they are now.. we are what do you call..ermmm.. tempelan??!.. but now they are one of the band.. congrats!!

Mr. AZ wanted to see the life-sized Optimus Prime in person at OU.. these are series of the transformers exhibition.. unfortunately there were not many pictures.. too crowded.. can't get decend pictures as people were crossing in front of the camera.. hate it when that happen! thought little Adam would get excited when he saw all those robots that can transform to cars since he was asking for a RM70 Lightning Mcqueen the day before.. but he was too afraid by the crowd that he didn't even bother about the robots..

Spicy Aglio Olio

Feeling hungry during one of the late nite up.. went down to the kitchen and search for food.. unfortunately our sausages (my quick fix when i feel hungry late at nite) supply finished.. as i was searching for food in the fridge.. i saw fresh button mushroom.. extra's from little Adam's mushroom soup.. and though of eating sauteed mushroom.. maybe with bread or something.. then i remember we have spaghetti.. and prawn are always available in the freezer.. so there i was in the kitchen alone at nite and fix myself an experimented spicy aglio olio.. thanx to Shilashower for her entry on spicy prawn olio that inspired me that nite.. it sure was easy peasy..

INGREDIENTS

spaghetti

fresh button mushroom

prawn - peeled and cleaned

butter

dry chili flakes - thanks to domino's

garlic

black pepper - crushed

dry herbs - basil & rosemary

salt

PREPARATION

1. cook spaghetti until soft in salted water and a little bit of oil. drain and run through with cold water. set aside.

2. saute button mushroom with butter until caramelized. set aside.

3. heat butter and fry crushed garlic until fragrant.

4. add in the sauteed button mushroom and prawn.

5. add in the spaghetti and mix.

6. season with crushed pepper, salt and herbs

7. wallah! you're done!

p/s: even Mr. AZ was impressed with my late nite cooking that day.. heeee..

The day start early because we wanted to beat the crowd for breakfast.. since we had to cross the road to the other wing of the hotel to the cafe.. the breakfast buffet was ok.. nothing extraordinary.. just the usual breakfast.. little Adam enjoyed the scrambled egg with chicken sausage.. after one serving he was distracted by the pool..

We went for a walk at the beach after breakfast.. Mr. AZ was trying to take little Adam for dip.. but he refuses.. i think he's afraid of the wave..he kept on pulling Mr. AZ's hand away from the water.. We decided to just lazed around at the pool and let little Adam enjoy his time there.. He was afraid at the 1st dip but when later joined by Waeis and Ilman the cousins he braved up.. he even saved by pulling Waeis's float as it went to the centre of the baby pool.. how cute.. just like a big brother..little Adam even manage swallow the pool water for couple of times..

Around 10 am we went up as my bro's family wanted to checked out early..but me and Mr. AZ decided to stay a little while.. we rested and took a nap first.. around 12 in the afternoon we checked out of the hotel and headed to the jetty to catch the ferry out of the island.. by this time little Adam was asleep.. but as we were on the ferry, i woke him up.. so please excuse the face in these photos.. During this time, my camera battery went out..

We stopped at Juru Autocity for lunch and then head straight ot Taiping to my grandma's house.. we rested there and regrouped with the whole family there..

We finally made our way home at around 6.30p.m.. as we joined the highway, there was a massive jam.. and the jam was all the way from Changkat Jering exit till R&R Sungai Perak.. and from thereafter couple of heavy traffic along the way.. We arrived safely in KL at around 1.30 in the morning..

It was a very tiring holiday/ vacation.. ehehehe.. no more vacation during public holiday + school holiday..

So..it's that time of the year again.. what time you may ask?? School break time!! eventhough little Adam is not in the schooling category, but my nephews and niece are..so had to wait for school break for a family vacay.. the place? where else?? food heaven, Penang!! I had so much planned for this vacation but didn't anticipated on the crowd.. every little itinerary were slashed last minute due to traffic jam..

the first and foremost must have as we arrive the island is Nasi Kandar.. our favourite place is Yasmeen Nasi Kandar in Penang Road..the shop is just next to the Nasi Kandar Line Clear..it is said that they are brothers.. only Yasmeen's is in an air conditioned shop while Line Clear is an open air joint.. some said that Line Clear is much more cheaper.. but I can't comment on that.. I went for their most-impossible-to-get-in-KL telur sotong.. yummy yummmm.. not every shop selling Nasi Kandar have this dish.. I can take just telur sotong and vege plus the most important thing is "kuah campur".. uhhhhh.. heaven...lepastu tangan berbau sampai esok pagi.. pastu rase nak makan lagi dan lagi dan lagi.. just like the energizer battery..

After that we shoot to Batu Feringghi.. from there on we knew that most of our plan that whole trip need to be replanned because of the heavy traffic and crowd..it took us almost 2 hours to reach Batu Feringghi from Penang Road.. unfortunately as we arrived at the hotel our room is still unavailable.. some of the patrons still did not checked out yet that they can't make-up the room for us.. lousy service i must say even from a well known hotel..so note in our vacation planner.. this hotel is slash-out from our stay-in list..

After settling down, some of us felt hungry again..instead of all going out.. my bro & dad went out to get food at Gurney Drive..it took them almost 3 hours to come back again to the hotel with food..hahahahah..

That nite we just stayed in apart from the usual Pasar Malam trip.. so i get what i wanted at the Pasar Malam and i think this whole week and next i would be enjoying their company..we ended the nite at almost midnite..

Since little Adam was born, I promised myself that i would capture every day of his life.. bhahahahha!! i failed! but I did manage to capture his important milestones for keepsake.. but all were scattered.. not scattered as in bersepah merata-rata.. but.. scattered in my hard disk and some in thumdrives.. merata laaa..

One day I came across a blog & facebook of a lady who designs baby birth posters.. she even do other kind of posters.. contact her.. agreed on the designs and wallaaaaaah!! little Adam posters..

One fine day, my big bro invited us for a dinner at one of the joint near his house.. Seremban! since it's working Monday and Mr. AZ went for Umrah, we planned that my father fetched me at the office after my sis came back from work.. they finally arrived at my office at almost 6.30 pm..

After Maghrib and freshen-up at the brother's house, we shoot-up to Senawang..it took us quite sometime because of the Wesak Holiday traffic the next day.. even taking the shortcut.. arrive there nicely as our stomach was growling like crazy.. luckily SIL called up the restaurant to reserve a table for us.. they took our order (my bro & SIL did this since they are familiar with the place).. our food came couple of minutes later.. whoooaaaahhh!! what a service..

they're food were ordered based on portion.. but keep in mind that they're portion are just the same as any arabian portion.. big! the meat (chicken and lamb) was so so tender.. and the rice..ohhhh! to die for.. little Adam enjoyed it very much.. even little Sara get to taste the rice.. moist and creamy rice..it was long grain rice.. the chili and yoghurt were traditionally taste with a malay adaptation.. a little bit spicy.. for drinks, they've dried-up of fresh juices so we opted for box juices and their traditional tea.. the tea was the normal Lipton tea.. but they infuse it with a little taste of mint.. my mom enjoyed the tea but she said it was not enough because of the small glass provided..

Hari Belia Negara 2011

So.. okay I guess sumer orang dah tau pasal Hari Belia Negara 2011.. where they aimed to kumpul 1 juta belia in Putrajaya.. the idea is great but the venue is so not!! and the day of celebration.. Putrajaya is an office district.. summore when you close most of the road especially on a working day.. it was a living hell!!

Most of the staff of my office came late that morning..all because of the road closure.. we were promised that our office parking sticker or our office pass is good enough for our entrance to the office since our block situated just beside KBS (we share the same road).. but i guess that information wasn't passed down to the person incharge of the traffic on the day.. so most of our staff was stopped by traffic officers..

The same thing happened during lunch hour.. since it's Friday, most of the staff went home.. and they got stopped again.. even during going back was jammed!! all because of tthhere's a certain flagged-off ceremony.. but why did they have to do it during peak hours?? why can't they do it earlier?? I'm still confuse..

Hopefully.. if they were to plan this kinda big Hari Belia again next year maybe should be thinking of other places.. no more Putrajaya please..

Was craving to have the famous Singapore Chili Crab for days.. but where can I find a place that serves halal Singapore Chili Crab? I searched high and low for any place in KL or even nearby but to no avail.. Mr. AZ was really sweet one weekend that he bought fresh crabs for me to cook.. so I share here the video that guide me to cook my first ever Singapore Chili Crab..
