Makan - Makan || Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant, Taman Melawati

We went for this family dinner just before we fly to Bangkok.. i think the nite before our flight.. This time it was Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant, a chinese muslim restaurant in Melawati.. my parents have been raving about the food for quite sometime.. we went to another branch for lunch sometime ago.. but the food was disappointing..

My father ordered his favourite Char Kuey Tiaw..Mom went for Nasi Goreng Cina..BIL chose noodle something.. and my sister added yam cake (btol ke?? ntah..tp yam for sure)  me and the husband shared nasi goreng tomyam.. all of us ordered the same drink.. kedondong juice.. marvelous!

dimsum telur masin
the yam dish
kedondong juice
i forgot that Mr. AZ ordered warm lime juice
I still didn't enjoy the food.. maybe it was the cucur bawang i ate that evening left me feeling full.. But the whole family enjoy the spread.. that's the most important thing.. from my observation, most of the patrons there enjoy their food very much..

Bangkok Break || Wrap-up

What I can summarised on out trip to Bangkok.. for you people and for my future reference..

  1. Try to arrive Bangkok during non-peak hours
  2. The best mode of transport in Bangkok is public transport.. best cab service i have ever experience..even the skytrain/ underground is good but quite hassle because some of the station don't have lifts let alone escalator for stroller/ people with wheels..
  3. It's easier to pack up with own food because halal restaurant are quite far and hard to find in Bangkok.. summore it's quite expensive to eat out..
  4. Next time try the fresh fruits and fruit juices that sells by the food peddlers at the road side..
  5. Shop for souveniers & t-shirts at MBK complex instead of waiting for Chatuchak..it's cheaper and you don't have to think much.. way waaaaaayy comfortable shopping there..
  6. Search and ask around incase there were some planned demonstration by the political groups.. you might get stuck in a massive traffic and crowd
  7. When buying food at convenient store please look for a halal logo..InsyaAllah it's halal..
  8. Try to get to Chatuchak very early in the morning since it will be hot early..let say that the sun at 8 am equals to the sun at 9 pm in Malaysia.. and stock up with loads of fluids.. it will be hot and humid there..
  9. The most important thing when shopping at the road side/ nite market/ Chatuchak Market.. is bargain!! go as low as you can think off..
  10. Planned a longer stay as in more than 3 full days of stay..Because there's a lot to do and a lot of place to go..
That's about it..

Bangkok Break || Day 3

So.. this is the last day.. By the end of today we'll be safely sleeping on our own bed.. We got a lot of final things to do today.. and the most important thing to do in Bangkok on a weekend is going to Chatuchak Market.. WE went out quite late around 9.00 am.. took the BTS Skytrain till the end of the line which is Mo Chit.. the train were full and most of the people are going to the market.. I was planning to do some last minute souvenirs shopping there..

walking to the BTS Skytrain station
from  this station

By the time we arrived at the Market, the sun was already shining so bright.. and it was d*mn hot! with the Market environment.. no wonder there were people selling cold drinks everywhere.. little Adam became unbearable and uncontrollable during the walking around that Mr. AZ decided to find a spot to stop and relax.. by that time it was very hot that it became unbearable to us.. I only manage to buy some things.. and then were off.. back to the city.. I think we only manage to cover 10% of the Market..

to this station
too hot to bear

We took the underground train to city centre.. we tapaw some food for lunch and off back to home because little Adam looks sleepy.. little Adam fell asleep in the cab on our ride home.. ehehehehe.. too tired i guess.. by the time we reached Mr. AZ's friend's unit it was already noon.. Planned to do some final souvenirs shopping before we're off to the airport..

made it on the dot

By the time little Adam woke-up and I finished packing out things.. it was already too late.. so just relaxing while waiting the time to go home.. We thought of taking the train to the airport since we heard there were some planned demonstration by the red shirt people.. and the road were jammed.. so we took the BTS Skytrain to Airport train station.. it was full with people and we didn't get to sit.. ouhh.. and Mr. AZ's friend didn't come with us.. he only bid us farewell at the Airport train station.. it was understandable because it was almost nite time..

boarding the plane

Everything at the airport went smoothly.. and we were off.. little Adam fell asleep just like he was during the flght to Bangkok.. he even missed his dinner.. heee.. and we safely landed on Malaysia's soil at 11.15 pm..

the moon as we took off

Woken up to a new and unfamiliar environment..Had breakfast with the mee goreng mamak we tapaw the nite before from Cili Padi Restaurant.. then we took the taxi Sathorn Pier.. Kalau nak naik BTS Skytrain pon boleh.. stop at sa€thorn Thaksin Station.. Kat sini we're gonna catch the Chao Phraya River Cruise.. I was imagining a cruise.. little that i know that the cruise was on a public boat.. were people can get on and off along the river.. Quite a hassle with the stroller and all.. tp for the experience kan?? takpelah.. the cruise took us around 2 hours from one end to the other end and back again..kitorang tak turun pon for any attraction.. malas laa.. since its a hassle nak turun and naik boat with the stroller.. but we still have to change boat at the end station to get back again..
